# Open, switch, and share

Open a smart account, switch between accounts and share a link that others can open.

**Where:** **Accounts** list, the account switcher and the **Share** menu

## Opening an account

Click a row on **Accounts**. The account opens at **Overview** with the rail on the left. The row you opened gets the **Last used** pill, and Product Home now redirects to Accounts on this device.

## The account URL

Every account has a canonical link:

```
https://bloxchain.app/workspace/<chainId>/<address>
```

For example `/workspace/11155111/0x783e…84c0` opens an account on Sepolia (chain 11155111). The link carries only public data: a chain id and a contract address.

Invalid links show "This link does not open an account" or "The link is missing a numeric network id. Account links look like /workspace/11155111/0x…".

## Account switcher

Inside an account the top bar shows the current account (name ▾ · address · network). Click it to see **Current Smart Account** and **All accounts**, and pick another account without going back to the list. Accounts on other networks are listed too; the footer will ask you to switch the wallet if you act on one.

## Share menu

| Item                 | What it does                                                                                                                       |
| -------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Share…** | Opens the system share sheet. On a browser with no native share the item reads **Share address** instead and copies the open link. |
| **Copy address** | Copies the contract address. |
| **Copy open link** | Copies the canonical `/workspace/<chainId>/<address>` link. |
| **View on explorer** | Opens the address on the network's block explorer. |

## What a recipient sees

* **Without a wallet**: the account opens read-only. Balances, roles, approvals and history are visible. The footer reads "Connect a wallet to sign. Reads still work."
* **With a wallet but no role**: still read-only for actions. **My access** says "This wallet is not assigned to any role yet. An admin can add you under Signers."
* **With a role**: the recipient can perform the steps their roles allow.
* **Organization accounts**: the recipient must sign in and be a member of that organization.

Opening a link also adds the account to the recipient's list on their device.

## Working with several accounts

There is no limit on how many accounts you track. Use the network filter and search on Accounts, give each account a distinct name and mark in [Account details](/platform-guide/accounts.md#account-details), and export a backup after adding accounts so the list survives a new browser.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.bloxchain.app/platform-guide/accounts/open-and-share.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
